As part of the 2018 provincial budget that Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah unveiled, the Sindh government proposed a 12% pay raise for public sector workers in grades 1 through 16 and a 10% increase for those in grades 17 through 22.

Sindh Govt Increases Salaries For Employees

The provincial budget for the fiscal year 2025–2026 has been unveiled by the Sindh government, led by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah. It contains a number of significant relief initiatives for government workers and the education sector. One of the most significant announcements is that public sector workers in grades 1 through 16 would see a 12% pay boost, while those in grades 17 through 22 will see a 10% increase. The purpose of this decision is to assist lower and mid-level government employees and mitigate the effects of growing inflation.

To ensure that older citizens who rely on government assistance are not left behind in this economic transition, the government has approved an 8% rise in pensions for retired government employees in addition to the pay increase.

Sindh Education Budget Update 2025 

The budget for education in Sindh has been raised by 12% for the upcoming fiscal year 2025–2026. The budget for education has grown from Rs458 billion to Rs523 billion, a 12% rise. From Rs136 billion to Rs156 billion, the amount allotted for primary education has grown.

Another Rs5 billion has been set aside for scholarships to international universities, and another Rs5 billion has been set aside for college facilities. Additionally, funding for nine autonomous institutions and thirty-one public universities has increased from Rs35 billion to Rs42 billion.

12% Increase In Salaries For 1 To 16 Grade Employees

CM Murad announced a 10% pay rise for workers in grades 17–22 and a 12% pay increase for those in grades 1–16. Additionally, there has been an 8% rise in pensions for former government workers. He announced plans to extend mobile diagnostic units and ambulance services to remote areas. The Annual Development Programme has been cut by 20% and is now set at Rs520 billion due to budgetary restrictions.

CM Murad unveiled 475 new development plans with an emphasis on undeveloped areas, renewable energy, and flood-affected areas. Education would receive Rs99.6 billion, health would receive Rs45.37 billion, and irrigation will receive Rs73.9 billion.
