Govt of Sindh allocates 13 billion for Benazir Hari Card and 5 billion for Mazdoor Card for FY 2024-25

As a result of the new budget, poor people will now be able to benefit from Benazir Hari Cards and Benazir Mazdoor Cards.

According to the Chief Minister of Sindh, during the Sindh Assembly’s Budget Speech of 2024-25, a new and beneficial scheme has been announced for the poor community of Sindh, including Mazdoors and Kisans, who are currently living in very poor conditions. He announced that the Sindh government has introduced the “Benazir Hari Card” for the first time in its history, and that Rs 13 billion has been allocated for the “Benazir Hari Card” in the new budget of Sindh.

788,000 Farmers Can Register for Hari Card 

Regardless of the size of the land, all farmers will receive financial support from the province administration, according to chief minister Murad Ali Shah. Approximately 788,000 of the 1.2 million farmers with 12.5 acres or less will be registered in less than a month, according to him.

Rs 8 Billion is Allocated For Benazir Mazdoor Card – Budget 2024-25

In addition to supporting farmers, the Budget also addresses the needs of the underprivileged labor community in Sindh, known as the “Mazdoor Tabqa,” who struggle to make ends meet with their low daily wages. To assist them, the Sindh government plans to launch the “Benazir Mazdoor Card” for registered workers with the labor department. To ensure its success, a budget of Rs. 5 billion has been allocated from the Workers Welfare Fund (WWF) for the fiscal year 2024-2025.

Benazir Mazdoor Cards can only be obtained by workers who are registered with the labor department. Registration for these cards will begin in July 2024 for the following fiscal year.

Incentives available to holders of the “Benazir Mazdoor Card” include:

  • Benefits in cash
  • Grants for employment injuries
  • Compensation for IDDAT
  • Coverage for maternity leave
  • Grant of death
  • Pension/gratuity for disabled workers
  • Pensions for survivors
  • Grants from the workers welfare fund
  • Grant for marriage
  • Scholarships or grants for education

The Benazir Women Agriculture Worker Program has been allocated Rs 500 million

There will be new relief for the women working on farms in the FY 2024–2025 with the introduction of the Benazir Women Agriculturist Program. How is it possible that the Benazir Income Support program would not offer any initiatives for Sindhi women?

As a result of the Chief Minister’s announcement, Rs. 500 million has been allocated to the Benazir Women Agricultural Workers Program. Inclusion Initiative for Differently Abled Children Unveiled by Sindh Govt

As part of its effort to create an inclusive enclave for individuals with disabilities, the Sindh government has launched a significant program for kids with disabilities. Murad Ali Shah told me that the government is launching an initiative to create an inclusive enclave. Sports facilities, schools, hospitals, and rehabilitation centers will be among the amenities in the enclave, which covers an area of 80 acres.
