Khyber Pakhtoon Kha’s government has announced good news for those with Sehat Sahulat Cards, because the insurance company has warned them that the card will be cancelled if the government fails to pay the amount on time. As of now, the problem has been resolved and the company announced that the restore the Sehat Card in KP for all eligible and poor people.

The K-P government announced in March of this year that free treatment on Sehat Insaf Card will be fully restored throughout the province following a significant reduction by the interim government due to budgetary constraints.

During a press conference, Syed Qasim Ali Shah, the health minister of the province, addressed the topic of the Health Card Plus project and its reinstatement of complimentary healthcare services for residents. As per reliable sources who spoke to The Express Tribune, the provincial government has paid Rs13 billion to the corporation thus far, with a remaining balance of Rs18 billion. However, due to the government’s failure to release the promised amount of Rs5 billion, the insurance company has terminated free treatment.
Health minister and advisor to the chief minister on finance, Muzamal Aslam, will also conduct a thorough discussion with the corporation in this regard.

1,800 free treatments at 118 hospitals across the province
The Health Minister, Chief Executive of the Sehat Sahulat Program, Dr. Riaz Tanoli, and Program Director, Dr. Ijaz provided updates on current efforts. Minister Shah commended the successful implementation of Health Card services in K-P, highlighting that 1,800 different medical procedures are now covered at 118 public and private institutions across the province, catering to various specialties. This achievement fulfills the vision set by former Prime Minister Imran Khan, with approximately Rs3 billion being spent on the Health Card each month.
Reopening of Counters At Hospitals For Issuing Of Health Card
Another great news for thousands of KP’s residents who want to get free treatment on health cards but can’t receive them due to ineligibility is that now the KP government is opening health card distribution centers in hospitals where patients can get their KP Health Sahulat Card.
The Chief Minister declared that hospital Health Card counters would reopen, and the government will provide an additional Rs5 billion to the insurance firm for this purpose. As a result of the former administration’s decision to end the Health Card program, economically disadvantaged residents suffered.
List Of Hospitals Issued For Health Card Program
Health Card initiative will open up new growth opportunities for the K-P province under Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, as it is a long-term initiative instead of a one-time one. According to the Health Department, 118 hospitals are part of the Health Card Program’s panel and provide free treatment services.
To address existing issues, including overbilling and irregularities, Minister Shah assured that specific operational methods will be restricted in government hospitals.
