In South Punjab, the Punjab government has launched a new Meal Program for Primary School Children in which 4 lakh students in 3527 schools will receive free milk packs. Maryam Nawaz has launched this program on 5th September at a Government school in Gera Ghazi Khan. In addition, she stressed the importance of several factors to revolutionize the Pujab School System and promised to provide all the necessities to the children.

Free milk will be provided to 3527 schools across South Punjab by the Punjab government

A new initiative for malnourished children has been launched by Maryam Nawaz in South Punjab. She has pledged to promote the “School Nutrition Program” across Punjab to ensure every child with dietary deficiencies or diseases has a nutritional meal. The CM has begun by providing Milk Packs to 3527 schools in South Punjab, which will be given to children from nursery to class five.

What is Malnutrition?

It can be caused by a lack of food, a poor diet, or an inability to absorb nutrients. Malnutrition occurs when the body doesn’t receive the correct balance of nutrients.

Punjab CM launches “School Nutrition Program”

The first step has already been taken toward the implementation of this initiative throughout the entire province of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz said during her speech at the schools. Maryam Nawaz has kept her promise to launch a milk-providing program for Punjab primary school students. 4 lakh children will receive a daily 175ml milk pack.

Free milk is now available in Punjab’s region

More than 400,000 kids will benefit from the program in the following three districts of South Punjab:

  • Dera Ghazi Khan, 
  • Rajanpur, 
  • and Muzaffargarh

Due to a lack of food, many students go to school with empty stomachs in South Punjab, which is why Maryam Nawaz has started the School Nutrition Program.

Maryam Nawaz, the Education Minister, visited a government primary school in Dera Ghazi Khan to discuss health and education with students and also give them milk packs.

In upcoming years, more meals will be added to this scheme in order to fight poverty and malnutrition type diseases in Punjab. Maryam Nawaz also suggested that other provinces start similar programs in schools.
