BISP Beneficiaries Expected to Reach 10 Million by December: Latest Update
In a recent media talk, Rubina Khalid, BISP Chairperson, stated that by the end of December, the number of beneficiaries of the program would reach 10 million. She also confirmed that a new payment system would be implemented soon that would eliminate human intervention in payment distribution.
In addition, she explained that the Beneficiary’s payment will increase from January 2025 and the BISP is currently receiving more applications.

She stressed that the initiative helps the poorest families close the gap between their income and costs during her speech at the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI). According to Senator Rubina Khalid, the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) will have 10 million beneficiaries by December, up from 9.3 million at the end of last year.

As a result of the government’s new budget announcement for BISP, the quarterly payment has also been increased by 13,500, and payments will now begin for newly registered individuals.

Wasela-e-Rozgar Program Revival
Furthermore, Khalid mentioned her plans to revive the Waseela-e-Rozgar Scheme, aimed at imparting marketable skills to girls from registered families. This initiative would empower them to establish businesses or secure jobs, ultimately contributing to the growth of the economy. She also shared that six banks were in the process of disbursing funds, which would improve the existing system and ensure accountability by connecting it with the Excise Department, FBR, and NADRA. In order to prevent misuse, the scheme is undergoing digitalization and has added provisions for elderly single women.
Highly trained workers could launch their own companies or export themselves overseas to generate much-needed foreign exchange.
As she mentioned, while many learning institutions currently offer skills training, it is not targeted. She promised that they would provide these young people with specialized training so that they could easily secure respectable jobs.
Transfer of BISP Payment System from 2 to 6 Banks
Rubina Khalid stated that the fact that only two banks are currently permitted to provide financial aid was causing problems for the substantial number of recipients when asked about BISP payment ways and how BISP will improve its structure to provide payments to people with more transparency.
In addition to automatically transferring the approved stipend to the six banks’ accounts, BISP is considering authorizing them to do so.
BISP Program Requirements for New Applicants
Also, she mentioned that BISP has been running a new Dynamic survey, which is attracting thousands of people to register for the 8171 Ehsaas Program, and that new applicants are welcome to apply provided they are willing to submit certain documents, such as their electricity bill, CNIC, and “B” form if they are also interested in joining the program.
Asif Ali Zardari instructed her to ensure that the registered beneficiaries received their entire payment without hurting their egos.
