Punjab Expands Free Wi-Fi Services In 22 More Areas

In an effort to increase digital accessibility, the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has doubled the scope of its public Wi-Fi program throughout the state.

The PSCA verified that there are now 430 free Wi-Fi access points in Lahore, up from 230 previously. Furthermore, the service is now available in 22 districts instead of just 11.

List Of 11 Additional Cities To Get Public Internet 

The following is the list of cities who will get free internet access by the Punjab Safe Cities Authority:

  • Kasur, 
  • Nankana Sahib, 
  • Sheikhupura, 
  • Sialkot, 
  • Gujrat, 
  • Jhelum, 
  • Attock, 
  • Hasan Abdal, 
  • Sahiwal, 
  • Okara, 
  • and Murree.

Punjab Expands Public Wi-Fi, 37 Million Users Benefit 

This action comes after a number of recent improvements to improve internet access in Punjab’s urban and semi-urban areas. 

As part of this expanding network, the authority last week turned on public Wi-Fi in Gujrat city, and PSCA data shows that over 37.22 million users have used the service so far, using over 905 terabytes of data in total. 

These numbers highlight the rising demand for dependable and cost-free internet access in public areas.
