Punjab’s Free Livestock Scheme: Register For Free Cows, Buffaloes & Goats!

In 2024, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif launched the Livestock Card program, aimed at creating opportunities for women in rural areas. Under this initiative, deserving widows or divorced women in rural districts are given one free cow or buffalo by the Punjab government. The primary goal of the program is to empower women by equipping them with a sustainable means of income to support their families and children. Additionally, it also promotes the production of healthy and quality animals while increasing milk production, leading to improved agricultural yield output in Punjab.

Registration updates for the CM Punjab Livestock Distribution Scheme!

As no such initiative has been initiated by any provincial government in Pakistan before, the Punjab Government’s CM Punjab Livestock distribution scheme is the first of its kind. Punjab officially launched the free buffalo, cow, and goat distribution program on November 1, 2024. The budget for this program is 2 billion rupees, which will provide free livestock to 11,000 rural women in South Punjab.

Through the project, poor women will be able to earn for their children and also meet their own needs by selling buffaloes or cow’s milk, thus becoming financially stable. In Punjab, the Chief Minister will personally visit rural women to distribute livestock assets.
