One of the major steps taken by Punjab Govt to digitalize and enhance the Vehicle registration process of the citizens of Punjab has been taken and now people can get an Online access for any vehicle related service Online through the government portal.

Through a mobile app, citizens may now bid on personalized car numbers, and traffic cops are enforcing e-challans more strictly with immediate fines.

Online Bidding For Vehicle Registration Number Plate

The Punjab government has started online bidding for appealing registration numbers for all vehicle categories, including motorcycles, cars, and commercial vehicles, in an effort to increase public convenience.

Through a customized mobile app and web platform created by the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) in collaboration with the Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control Department, citizens may now take part in the e-Auction from the comfort of their homes.

The deadline for registering and placing a bid is July 30, 2025. The proposal, according to PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf, encourages openness and does away with the necessity of in-person meetings or agent participation.

Advance Transparent System Introduce

The solution provides total transparency and does away with the need for intermediaries, resulting in a smooth and paperless process, PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf underlined.

Concurrently, the Punjab Safe Cities Authority has assisted the Punjab Traffic Police in extending the reach of its e-challan enforcement system throughout the state.

A newly integrated smartphone application has made it possible for all traffic and Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) wardens throughout the province to detect and take action on vehicles with outstanding e-challans, whereas before only specialized teams in Lahore were in charge of collecting pending fines.

Traffic Police Recover Rs86 Million from Defaulters in June Alone

The effort has earned Rs108.6 million in fines over the last two months, including Rs86 million from 129,000 defaulters in June.

Chief Traffic Officer Dr. Athar Waheed urged individuals to frequently check their e-challan status and pay any outstanding dues, warning that vehicles with unpaid fines would be detained and confiscated if payment is not made immediately.
